발레리는 미국에서 가장 바쁜 발보아 린디 강사 중에 하나로 스윙의 스타일에 관계없이 뮤지컬리티와 커넥션을 강조한다.

 

발레리는 춤에 대한 사랑과 열정을 전달하는데 집중하고 있으며 강습과 댄스 플로어 모두에서 열정적으로 신선하고 흥미로우며 밝은 태도를 전달하는 것을 좋아한다. 고향이기도 클리브랜드에서 열리는 최대 발보아 이벤트 올발보아위크앤드(All Balboa Weekend)의 오거나이져이기도 하다.

 

2001년에 시작한 올발보아위크앤드는 발보아만을 위한 최초의 큰 규모의 국제 이벤트였으며 세계적으로 가장 인정받는 발보아 대회 중에 하나인 American Classic Balboa Championships (ACBC)을 매년 개최하고 있다.

 

발레리는 또한 세인트 조셉 아스피린(St/ Joseph Aspirin) 회사가 스폰서를 한 기네스 월드 기록(Guinness World Record)의 'Heart Health Hop' 이벤트를 조직하는데 큰 역할을 맡았으며 이 행사는 2003년 7월29-31일에 있었으며 가장 오래하는 댄스 파티 기록을 가지고 있다. 오하이오의 클리브랜드 Rock & Roll 명예의 전당에서 열렸으며 41명의 참가자들이 52시간 3분 동안 춤을 췄고 이것은 이전 기록을 압도하는 것이었다.

One of America's busiest Lindy and Balboa teachers, Valerie has a reputation for her finesse on the dance floor. She emphasizes musicality and connection regardless of the style of swing. Since 2002 Valerie has taken home the 2003 National Jitterbug Championships (NJC) Grand Slam Championship, became both the 2004 NJC Balboa Champions and the 2004 American Lindy Hop Championships (ALHC) American Showcase Champions and most recently, (in 2005) she returned to ALHC to place 2nd in the same competition.

 

 

Valerie is the organizer of the 'All Balboa Weekend' held annually in her hometown of Cleveland. This Weekend event first started in 2001 and was the first major dance camp dedicated solely to Balboa. It features the American Classic Balboa Championships (ACBC), one of the nations most respected and sought after Balboa competitions. www.AllBalboa.com.

 

 

Valerie also played a major role in organizing (and participating in) the Guinness World Record-breaking 'Heart Health Hop' event sponsored by St. Joseph Aspirin, which broke the record for the 'Longest Dance Party'. From July 29-31 (2003), 41 participants danced at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, for 52 hours and 3 minutes...smashing the old record! www.guinessworldrecords.com (search "longest dance party") Championships in 2013.
